While there may be some who will look out for their buyers, most are only interested in putting together a deal, collecting their fee and washing their hands of the resulting transaction. Many an unsuspecting buyer has ended up with no goods, or counterfeit goods when dealing through a broker, who simply says they put the deal together, but do not guarantee the goods, etc. I'm not saying there are not some who are totally protective, but many start singing a different tune when the deals go bad. Of course, it is often the broker who the buyer actually pays, so they should be a responsible party. And they may say they will "see what they can do" to get the money from the seller. But in reality, it is the broker, not the seller who was actually paid and they should be responsible for a refund. Again, they are not all that way. But anyone can claim to be a broker.
