How has the Internet changed how you source products? Reply

Obviously the Internet has changed a lot of things, and I'm sure that it's opened up many opportunities for blooming and creative entrepreneurs (such as yourselves) to grow your businesses.

Has the Internet made it easier for you to run your business, i.e. source products to resell? Has it presented any new opportunities for you that weren't there 10 years ago?

Hi,

First, yes, you are more than welcome to join in on the discussion on the wholesale forum. I hope you will frequent our forum often.

Secondly, I also have to agree that the internet has forever changed our method of doing business. One aspect that I appreciate is that it has made our world so much smaller and easy to access other parts of the world including, ChinaWink

welcome!

Yes everyone has an even level playing field. The only exception is that the best wholesalers can not be found on the internet. I work for a wholesaler and we have been in this business for 8 years. we even sell to the big boys like target and walmart, but if you do any wholesale look up we are no where to be found.

Well, I have to partially agree with you on that one. I sell both Retail and wholesale. Retail to me is something like 1-mabey 20 pieces. I sell to consumers and mom and pop shops locally as well on the internet. Selling over the internet has broaden my client database considerable where i am not just limited to local business. Now i not only have clients in texas, but in most parts of the United states and in UK,Italy,France,singapore...well...you get the picture.

On the other end when dealing with suppliers, I find when i need smaller type orders I can access them locally with vendors in which some do not have an internet prescence for the simple reason of not understanding how or do not have time for it but when my client need large orders and my client is over the internet then i have no choice but to compete so i source with suppliers who are on the internet. Many of the no name wholesalers want you to buy in incredible amounts when you are talking walmart and such...i do not have any clients who order this big anyway.

Yes, a person must do their homework and find the best deals for their money because I have had items locked in customs with a so sad to bad from supplier, had items not delivered at all, and had items if they was delivered, they was poor and unsellable condition.

Once you find someone you best stick with them no matter what.

I believe it's easier to find wholesale sources now but harder to find products that aren't sold everywhere you look.

Looking for REAL wholesale sources?

Greg,

So your biggest challenge is finding specialty or niche product wholesalers online?
