Buying overseas in small bulk? Reply

Most of the vendors or agents I've run across in other countries only sell in larger bulk. I don't want to purchase $10,000 worth of just ONE product. Am I just not looking hard enough or is this the amount you would normally expect to buy when purchasing wholesale overseas.

Greg - Many of the sources SAY that but do NOT mean that! I have worked with hundreds of companies in China, Tiwan, Mexico, Hong Kong, Isreal, etc... Most allow you to order one case minimum if you just ask. This is usually between 4 - 12 of the product but for larger items there can be just ONE to a case -- for smaller items the most common is 24... There are also inner and outer cartons (cases) some times. So, you can buy a master case of 48 items or an inner case of 12. The master case holds four cases of 12...

Good luck and remember JUST ASK. You will be surprised how many companies say they want you to buy $10,000 in goods but will really settle for $200 - $300. That is a BIG difference.

Pete, please respond with some helpful info other than just "buy my guide". That starts to fill up the message board with non-answers and prohibits it's growth.

Quote - Pete, please respond with some helpful info other than just "buy my guide". That starts to fill up the message board with non-answers and prohibits it's growth.

Reply - It's not my guide. It's a membership site with thousands of resources, including manufacturers, exporters. importers, wholesalers and companies that might be any one of those who may also dropship.

If you will notice, I post that information only when someone asks "where can I find" and that is exactly what that membership site provides - sources. Answers to the seriously asked query for suppliers.

While you may find my telling them there is a place they can find thousands of sources, as well as all sorts of other information, including an extensive section on selling of eBay. The site is owned by a real eBay powerseller who instead of keeping secrets is willing to offer virtually unlimited sources to people who may soon become his competition. I'd say he deserves praise for offering such a site for a one-time price of under $ 10.00 USD.

There are others selling all sorts of claptrap and bogus methods in single ebooks, courses, videos and such all over the net for all sorts of crazy prices. After all, once you've compiled something, how many do you have to sell to recoup your cost?

In this case, the site owner continues to update the site almost daily and even offers to buy ebooks, courses and memberships at his expense to offer free to site members. Hardly a ripoff and something that all newbies should be made aware of.

If there were a way to get everyone who posted a "where can I fund" type post to automatically go to my original post I'd do it, but since there isn't I'll keep letting them know what is available.

While you seem to have a negative attitude about me helping folks get off on a good footing in a new business venture, I feel proud to have helped hundreds of newbies get started. I was a mod on the predecessor to this forum, the old W411 4um and have a history of helping others on forums devoted to online businesses.

I've done well in business for myself for decades and don't mind "passing it on" to others just starting. You can rest assured that I personally did not feel that the site I promote was not worth every penny and more I would never mention it.

As it is, I save folks $ 3.00 on it. If they go to the site itself the cost is $ 12.99. They can join through me as a fellow forum meber for $ 9.99, a price agreed upon by the site owner.

Rest assured, if any of the people here had paid for a membership and felt they did not get value for the price, they would be posting like crazy.

Until this becomes the Drop Shipping Sucks forum, I will pay little attention to your negative comments.

Pete - I have no problem with you helping people get off the ground with their new business venture... I am just not always sure of your intentions.

I have no problems with you Pete and I thank you for being a part of this forum. My comments were not meant to be negative, I was just making an observation.

If the guide you sell is good, by all means it is worth far more that $10 and you can quote me on that! I just think that you have more to offer than a link. That is all, take it as a COMPLEMENT not as a negative attack.

Pete - I have no problem with you helping people get off the ground with their new business venture... I am just not always sure of your intentions. I did not see Greg asking "where can I find"... Here is what Greg asked.

"Buying overseas in small bulk? Most of the vendors or agents I've run across in other countries only sell in larger bulk. I don't want to purchase $10,000 worth of just ONE product. Am I just not looking hard enough or is this the amount you would normally expect to buy when purchasing wholesale overseas."

Your response is "...Here is the link again." - that really doesn't answer the question. Does the link mean YES he can buy for less quantity overseas or NO he cannot??... In fact, the point that you had to give him the link again implies that it did not work out for him the first time. If what he needed was the link he wouldn't have asked the question because you had already given him the link.

I have no problems with you Pete and I thank you for being a part of this forum. My comments were not meant to be negative, I was just making an observation.

If the guide you sell is good, by all means it is worth FAR FAR MORE than $10 and you can quote me on that! I just think that you have more to offer than a link. That is all, take it as a COMPLEMENT not as a negative attack. If you were a mod on the 411 forum then I know you have a lot more than a link to share.

Thanks Pete - I meant no disrespect.

Actually, towards the end of the W411 4UM I was not particularly proud to be associated with it. Kari's got a good thing going here. I hope we can get more participation.

Not proud? You mean before Liquidity had it (when it was ALDNet Media) or when Liquidity first had it?

Toward the end when it just about went up in flames and there were no legitimate sellers to be found. Nothing but finger-pointing and bad-mouthing. About wore out the Delete link.

Some things are best forgotten, and the last gasps of the 4UM is one. Kari did the right thing by putting it to bed.

Thanks. Steve Weber!

An updatre on one of the 4UM's more notorious scammers. Was doing it for years, never has quit.

Also, I think there are legitimate dropshippers out there. They just don't advertise that service because they prefer for people to buy in bulk from them. But I think some wholesale companies are desperate enough to offer that service if you were to ask.

I think that the best we can do in this forum as a community is to offer the best advice we possibly can about finding and working with wholesalers. Sure, we still have a "Marketplace" forum; but it's in everyone's best interest to do their due diligence. You wouldn't just go out and buy a car before researching your purchase first, would you? If you find a supplier listed in the forums that you are interested in working with, research them first. You're doing yourself and your business a favor.

I think the Wholesale Forums have been really hopping lately with some good discussion, and I hope it continues this way. This is all thanks to members like gregdavidson, pete, nodropship, wartimethings, schumi - everyone. Let's keep the conversation going!
