How does fake product clear customs? Reply

Question:

All of this fake clothing that is sold online. The Ralph Lauren shirts...the Ambercrombie Fitch etc.. We all know it is fake. How does this product get through customs? I know most of it comes from China. Does a % of it get questioned/taken at customs or do the shippers have some way of getting it through customs?

- Does the shipper say it is another brand name?
- Does the broker have a good enough name that custom doesn't even check?
- Is there a certain shipper/broker to work with for fake products?

I ship jewelry from Asia, and even with no import taxes etc... and with no real issue about "Authenticity" since it is all custom made, seems like ever box I import it gets opened, checked, and ofter I have to provide some add'l backup on the product before it gets imported. Just wondering how these fake shirts get shipped so easily.
